I have always been fascinated by the distant – exotic plants, Mediterranean women and southern expressions that are so different from Norway. Something that can often be seen in my art. Now, after taking the plunge and moving to Spain, I have all of this right outside my door. In my own garden I find inspiration among palm trees, flowers, beautiful sculptures and the sound of water flowing from the birdbath. "A Backyard Story is about exactly this - the feeling of coming home, to a place that is both new and at the same time feels like it has always been a part of me."
